The conjugate heat transfer inside microchannels filled with porous media in the slip regime is analytically investigated based on the local thermal nonequilibrium model, i.e., assuming independent temperatures for the solid and fluid phases of the porous material. The internal heat generations within both the fluid and solid phases of the porous medium are considered. Effects of the pertinent parameters such as the dimensionless thermal resistance of the wall R w , heat generation parameter ω , Biot number B i , fluid-to-solid effective conductivity ratio k , and temperature jump coefficient β on the dimensionless temperature profiles θ of the two phases as well as the Nusselt number N u m are investigated. Moreover, the validity of the one-equation model (the local thermal equilibrium assumption) is analyzed by comparing the Nusselt number obtained by the one-equation model (local thermal equilibrium, by assuming identical temperatures for the solid and fluid phases of the porous material) to that obtained by the two-equation model (local thermal nonequilibrium). Results show that the accuracy of the local thermal equilibrium model decreases in the slip regime. However, the accuracy of local thermal equilibrium model is enhanced by considering the thermal resistance of the wall. Moreover, the accuracy of local thermal equilibrium model increases with increased B i , while it is not a monotonic function of k in the presence of internal heat generation. When R w is not negligible, N u m is insensitive to B i for high values of k .
