A computational study of methane–air combustion with three configurations of plasma actuators placed around the periphery of a coaxial jet combustor is investigated. Plasma actuators are used to impose a local body force near the combustor wall. Three different approximated plasma forces are tested for each configuration. For the baseline case without plasma actuation, results are validated with published numerical and experimental data. At large plasma force, the flame shape becomes narrow for the configuration of the coflow case. For the rest of configurations, the flame is extinguished due to fuel-lean mixtures at large plasma force. For the configuration of the counterflow case, the size of the outer recirculation zone has been increased by increasing the plasma force. However, the large outer recirculation zone may block the airflow path and result in flame extinguishment. For the configuration of the counterclockwise coflow case, the flame shape becomes wider until the plasma force of 200    mN / m . Thus, this study predicts different flame structures by using different plasma configurations.
